Delta Flights
Delta Air Lines, Inc., also known as Delta, is a major airline in the United States and a legacy carrier. Delta is one of the world’s oldest airlines, with headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. The airline, together with its subsidiaries and regional affiliates, operates over 5,400 flights per day, serving 325 destinations in 52 countries across six continents. Delta is a founding member of the airline alliance SkyTeam.
Delta has nine hubs, with Atlanta being the most important in terms of total passengers and departures. It is the world’s second largest airline in terms of scheduled passengers carried, revenue passenger-kilometers flown, and fleet size. The company is ranked 69th on the Fortune 500.
Delta and its global alliance partners fly over 15,000 flights per day. Delta is the only airline in the United States that flies to Dakar, Stockholm, and Copenhagen.
Delta has nine hubs at the moment: Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York (JFK&La Guardia), Salt Lake City, and Seattle.
By the end of 2020, Delta was flying a fleet of 750 Airbus and Boeing-built planes. In addition to having the largest Airbus A330 fleet of any US airline, Delta also operates the largest Boeing 717, Boeing 757, and Boeing 767 fleets in the entire world. In order to modernize and simplify its fleet, Delta Air Lines decided to buy 29 pre-owned B737-900ERs and lease seven pre-owned A350-900s in July 2021.
Delta Air Lines’ frequent flyer program is SkyMiles. Miles do not expire, but Delta reserves the right to deactivate accounts in certain circumstances, such as the death of a program member or fraudulent activity.
Delta Sky Club is the name given to Delta’s airport lounges. An annual membership is available, which can be purchased with either money or miles. International passengers traveling in Delta One class receive complimentary access. With certain exceptions, membership can also be obtained through top-tier Delta status or by holding an American Express card. Delta no longer offered single-day passes as of January 2019.
