They may not get many requests to style a mullet these days, but the Blind Barber understands the “business up front, party in the back” ethos of the quintessential 80s haircut perfectly. Highland Park’s swish, slick barbershop may not look like one of LA’s best nightspots, but hidden behind the straight razors and beard trimmers is a truly decadent and exciting speakeasy that has taken the town by storm--welcome to the Blind Barber bar.
In contrast to the stark whiteness of the shop out front, as soon as you step through the unmarked back door you’ll be transported into a world of lush, 70s elegance, full of patterned wallpaper and chic mod furniture. Wood paneling and retro leather booths add sophistication, and a mid-century modern nook brings a touch of style and class.
The drinks menu is tight and focused, with some exciting twists on old favorites, as well as inventive house blends that will leave you desperate for just one more. Bar food comes in the form of a mouthwatering menu of grilled cheese, with an extraordinary range of flavors from around the world, culminating in the weird but wonderful Nutella and mascarpone for dessert.
Whether your in the mood for a trim or a seriously stylish night out, the Blind Barber speakeasy will provide.
